A refurbished Toyota Hilux was today donated to Ahmadu Bello University by Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) for use at the institution's Bulk Metering Unit.
Presenting the vehicle to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabir Bala, the Institute's Executive Director, Prof Muhammad F Ishiyaku said the vehicle was donated specifically to help the unit improve its service delivery to the University community.
Prof Ishiyaku also said that the gesture on account that electrical installations within the University as a whole was becoming "very difficult" for the unit.
The Executive Director then enjoined the unit to put the vehicle into good use.
Receiving the vehicle, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabir Bala, assured that the vehicle would be maintained properly for continuous use.
The Vice-Chancellor, who test-ran the vehicle to assess its road worthiness, later handed it over to the Director, Physical Planning and Municipal Services, Engr Muhammad Aminu Sambo, for onward delivery to the Bulk Metering Unit.
