ABU Staff win 2018 NCC Research Grants for Academia in Tertiary Institutions
Academic staff of the University were amongst the recipients of award letters to academics with successful proposals for the NCC 2018 Research Grants. The awards were presented by the EVC/CEO of the NCC, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta at an event that took place on Tuesday 11th June 2019 at the Conference Room of the NCC Head Office, Abuja. Also present at the event was the Director of ICICT, Prof. M. B. Mu’azu, who is the Chairman of the NCC Inter-Agency Committee for the assessment of the research proposals from the academia.
There was a total of eleven (11) awards to academics from ten (10) Nigerian Universities (Only Ahmadu Bello University had two awards). The recipients of the grants from the University (on behalf of their teams) are:
- Prof. Rabiu Abdussalam Magaji (Department of Human Physiology): Neuroendocrine and Metabolic Studies of Mobile Phone Radiation
- Drs Mohammed Bashir Abdulrazaq and Ime Jarlath Umoh (Department of Computer Engineering): Design and Development of Transition Avoidance Wireless Communications System for Enhanced Spectral Efficiency
